The Terraton 200 is a state-of-the-art offset smoker, developed using cutting-edge computer simulation and the expertise of seasoned pitmasters. This 1.5-ton behemoth combines robust, innovative functionality with a striking presence.

Advanced airflow engineering and a ceramic-fibre insulated firebox provide precise heat control and exceptional fuel efficiency, allowing you to achieve low-and-slow perfection. 
 
MATERIALS
Constructed from laser-cut 8mm, 10mm and 12mm steel, the Terraton 200 is built to last several lifetimes. Due to the high thermal mass of the heavy duty materials, the pit is able to maintain very stable temperatures compared to pits made of thinner metal.

The smoker is weatherproofed with a polymerised linseed oil coating, which will not flake and degrade over time like paint. The rust-proof coating can be maintained indefinitely. Bolts, washers and other hardware components are made from stainless steel to further ensure the longevity of the pit.
 
INSULATION
Two inches of ceramic fibre rated to withstand temperatures of up to 2600F are sandwiched between the 10mm and 8mm steel surfaces of not only the firebox, but the firebox door and top lid.

There are numerous benefits to insulating the entirety of the firebox. By keeping as much heat in the system as possible, less wood is consumed, newly added splits catch fire quickly, and splits burn with minimum smouldering producing the cleanest flavour.
 
INTELLIGENT COUNTERWEIGHT DESIGN
Typically for larger smokers, big and obtrusive counterweights are required to assist the user in lifting the doors due to their weight.

Through a combination of heavy duty stainless steel torsional and tension springs, along with a sleek pulley based counterweight, we have entirely removed the need for large and unsightly counterweights.
 
PLANCHA & LIVE FIRE GRILL
To add to the versatility of the pit, we have incorporated a heavily insulated lid to the top of the firebox so that you can grill directly over the live fire with the included removeable stainless steel grates, or swap to the 8mm thick steel plancha for the ultimate cast iron-like sear.

With the extra large 71.4cm x 55cm accessible cooking area over the live fire, this feature replaces the need to purchase a separate barbecue for direct-heat cooking.
 
MATERIA: SUPERIOR FIRE MANAGEMENT
The optional Materia fire management basket further simplifies the process of maintaining a steady wood fire, helping wood burn cleanly with minimal smouldering.
 
Constructed entirely from laser-cut 10mm thick steel plate, it delivers durability far beyond typical standards. 
 
The bottom grate is removable for easy ash clean up without having to remove the entire fire basket.
 
AIRFLOW
Upper firebox air inlets are a commonly overlooked, but arguably crucial feature. 
They assist the transfer of heat from the firebox into the cooking chamber without excessively increasing overall pit temperatures.
 
Precise adjustments to the firebox airflow can be made using the rotating handle which simultaneously adjusts the upper and lower air inlets.
 
The airflow path and heat distribution has been optimised using advanced computer simulation. The extra large chimney and collector combined with the non-obstructive radiant heat deflector plate direct the airflow path to keep the pit performing in the preferred "top down" cooking configuration.
 
ENHANCED MANOEUVRABILITY
The Terraton 200 is supported by four rugged 4-ply 500mm wheels rated to 1800kg with steel centres, for worry free all-terrain operation.

We have developed a unique and extremely stable steering system that allows for a tight turning radius.  Alternatively, the pit can be mounted on fixed skids to further minimise its footprint.
 
HEAVY DUTY STAINLESS STEEL COOKING GRATES
Traditionally, offset smokers come with expanded mesh cooking grates that can be challenging to maintain and may wear out over time.
​
The Terraton 200 features two main cooking chamber grates and an optional firebox cooking grate. They are constructed from 10mm diameter 304 grade stainless steel rods, robustly encased within a laser cut steel frame of a combined 20mm thickness.
 
With fewer contact areas to catch food residue compared to expanded mesh, our round stainless cooking grates make maintenance effortless.
 
SHELVING & STORAGE
There are two fixed storage shelves underneath the pit as standard, but you can opt to include two additional large 304 stainless steel shelves at table-top height

The first stainless shelf is easily removable and can be stowed under the cook chamber in the dedicated storage rails when not in use. A collapsible second stainless shelf is located on the front side of the firebox.
